The girl you'll love to hate!

Girly Quotes, Girly Quotes, Girly Sayings THE GIRL YOU'LL LOVE TO HATE -- is also dangerous when provoked. I'm the kind of girl you want to hate, but then you'll realize you’re just being jealous -- don’t say I didn't warn you. Goin' against the flow and surprising people is my GAME. Mood-dresser style savant. I'm a lover of all things FASHIONABLE. Cray cray shopaholic. Self-confessed makeup junkie. True-blooded partyphile. My happy pill is the Beach. Booze gets me all revved up. Gravity-defying shoes will forever be my number one love. Trouble always seem to find me, always comes in the form of a BOY (explains why I have earned enough battle scars to ramble and rant, lol). "I want to go to different places, meet lots of people, and learn new things in the world. God, there’s so much to do…." A FEROSH outtake of my life's random whatnots and unforeseen shenanigans with an occasional sarcastic flavoring. Girly Quotes, Girly Quotes, Girly Sayings

When I was still heavy with Sky, Saturday was my check-up day. My OB is like a hit movie — pinipilahan sa takilya. No matter how early I come in, there’s always at least 10 other expectant moms in front of me at the queue.

I finally got tired of playing games on my phone when I thought of scribbling plans for Sky’s baptism. I was on my 7th or 8th month then and I figured that I might as well plan ahead because I know I won’t have time to when Sky’s already out and about. So here it goes…

♥♥♥ Godfathers and Fairy Godmothers ♥♥♥

I started with Sky’s godparents. I kinda went overboard so Sky ended up with around 12 pairs of ninongs and ninangs. I wrote all their names down in my notebook by hand.  Truth be told, 12 was already an edited list. Ze criteria for choosing the ninongs and ninangs? My faith that in the event that something happens to me, Sky will be left to people who will love her and look after her because if they don’t I will scare the hell out of ‘em! Haha.

♥♥♥ The Church ♥♥♥

I wanted a church that would be accessible enough for ze fambam and the guests. So my best bet is still (and will always be) Makati. I originally wanted to book Sanctuario de San Antonio Church, mainly because they only hold special baptisms. Location-wise, it’s also convenient for ze fambam and the guests who hail from the north and south sides of the Metro. However, I planned the baptism on a Saturday and I didn’t want the guests to have trouble looking for parking spaces and fixing their work schedule which the church especially on a wedding Saturday sorely lacks. Might I add that the maximum number of pairs for sponsors are strictly 5. And I have a tentative list of 12 pairs. Ack.

So the next best choice was St. Andrew the Apostle Church at Bel-Air 2. It’s not a huge church but the church is close to our former school (Mapua Makati), which will be a hassle-free spot for the guests (my college batchmates and friends). Plus, I was baptized in that church. :)

As for the documents, the church just needs the kid’s birth certificate. Unlike other churches which also requires the marriage certificate of the parents (which to me is unfair because what if the kid was born out of wedlock? Hmm?! EHEM!). So whatever.

♥♥♥ Venue ♥♥♥

Next up the venue. A great online resource I stumbled upon when I was planning is http://venues.multiply.com – this site is regularly updated with all the clubhouses and restaurants that one can book for ANY event. It’s a free resource and each album has contact details. Some of the rates are not recent but at least you’ll have more or less an idea of how much to spend.  This site is a godsend to people like me who’ve practically planned the biggest events in my life online.

But then again, I want the venue to be close to the church, so let’s skip that part as of the moment.

♥♥♥ Food ♥♥♥

As for the food, I WON’T REVEAL the deets yet! Haha. I want it to be a SURPRISE for the guests. Yeah, coz I’m cool like that. Lol. But since I will take the late afternoon baptism schedule, brace yourself for some yummeh desserts. :)

♥♥♥ Invites ♥♥♥

I’m thinking of making Sky invites. I can use powerpoint and word for these and download the images online and have them printed at a nice printing shop. If all else fails, I’ll prolly just give ‘em a call. Eep!

♥♥♥ Decors, Souvenirs and Tokens for the Godparents ♥♥♥

I want a fresh, new theme for her baptism and it is still in the works. Letting my creative juices flowing! :)

Last but not least, the ♥♥♥ Photographer ♥♥♥

I have a bunch of photographer friends so this was easy. The only problem would have to be their schedule! So as soon as I sort out who among them, I have to book him/her really early on when knowing how he/she is prolly busy with weddings, family shoots and whatnot.

So there. I really enjoyed planning Sky’s baptism. I like planning and organizing parties and events — and planning things for my baby was such a joy! More than anything, that day will be a chance for me to thank the good Lord for blessing me a lil angel. It will also be great to see friends gather around to celebrate the little one. As for me, it was just great to be out! Haha!

xx
